Growing Pains!
A loading dock went in and there was a lot of construction. Some people can remember Mary on a very tall ladder installing curtains that she sewed to cover the high windows.
God opens doors for you, if you listen and pay attention, and you don’t look at the paint, or the interior or the exterior; you look at the potential. If you look at the paint chips and the cracks in the floor and the wallpaper torn off or the sheet rock that’s exploded because a frozen pipe broke behind it, and there’s a mess all over the floor, and there’s animal stuff on the floor—if you look at all of that, your dream is gone. It’s gone.
And this is part of what steals your dreams—you become too picky and too detail-oriented to fulfill a dream. You must understand, in order to dream, you’ve got to look beyond all of that stuff. Then once you start on the path of your dream, you can go back and look at the details, because by that time it’s anchored in, so the details don’t matter. Once your dream’s anchored in and you’ve become that, you pursue it.
And this was a happy day when we moved from Riverton to Payson, into the giant building down there where we felt like two peas in a trash can rolling around, it was so big. Mary said, “What are we going to do with all this space?”
I said, “Don’t worry about it, Honey; it will fill up.” And it did.
This was building the loading ramp so that we could get the trucks in, because now we were selling so much product that we had to have it come in a truck instead of a pickup. Oh what an amazing day when we built the loading dock.
Then when we filled the entire gymnasium, Mary said, “What are we going to do now?”
I said, “It’s time to move the warehouse.” So we got our first building in Springville, 40,000 square feet.
Mary and I walked into that and she did it again, she says, “Honey, what are we going to do with all this space?”
I said, “It’ll only take a couple of years for it to all be full.”
So then we built our 109,000-square-foot building. And then when we had the grand opening of that building, Mary said it again, “Oh, Honey, can you believe this is so massive?”
I said, “Don’t worry, Honey, it’ll fill up.” And guess what, it’s now too small, and we have to build a bigger one. Because of you. All because of you. Isn’t that fabulous!
