Legacy Gary Member Stories – New Gold
Since Gary Young’s passing, we have put a lot of thought into how to continue the D. Gary Young blog. We wanted to foster a stalwart commitment to Gary’s legacy, so we asked members to think of a fond memory of their time working with him on projects, on travels, at one of the farms, or in another setting to share those memories with you.
Here is a memory from Laura F.:
The year I walked across the stage at Convention in Dallas, Texas, as a new Gold was extremely memorable. All of the new Gold leaders were lined up preparing to walk the stage when Gary and Mary started at the front of the line and spoke to every single new Gold. I have no idea how many there were that year, but the line was so long I could not see the end.
When they approached me, they both hugged me, and I saw tears in Gary’s eyes as he told me how much he appreciated me.
When I hugged Mary, I said, “Thank you so much for this opportunity.”
She looked me in the eyes and said, “Thank YOU! Honey, we wouldn’t have a business without you.” ♥️. That is my greatest memory of Gary and Mary.
I also had the opportunity to hear him speak in a very small group in Toronto, Canada, a few years ago. His passion that day was beyond anything I had ever witnessed from him. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to hear him speak on numerous occasions.
